The Story So Far
1992

Born, in Nottingham, England
Lex was born as the middle child of three girls. In Junior school she formed a band with her classmates and recorded a cover of “Girls Aloud - Sound of the Underground”.
2003

Relocated, to Exeter, Devon
Lex relocated with her family to Devon.
She credits this move as giving her the feeling she could create a home anywhere, rather than being rooted in a set place.
2009

Trained as part of the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain
Over the summer, aged 17, Lex trained at the Laban Centre in Deptford in acting and performance.
2014

English, Film & Theatre Studies, BA Hons University of Bristol
Graduated from the University of Bristol. Alongside her degree, hosted a show on BURST Radio, was the Head of Entertainment for UBTV and performed & directed numerous theatre productions. Still regrets not trying harder to go to drama school - this has been a great motivator for Lex to this day.

During time at BBH, the agency co-founded by John Hegarty, Lex worked on the first global communications for UBER
2019

Nike & Hot Girls Podcast
Joined Nike to work in-house in the marketing team. Learnt what is is to build a Global Brand which defines culture. Simultaneously launched Hot Girls - the Arts Council Funded podcast interrogating the persisting gender gap in Dance Music, which overtook JD Sports and Defected Records to land in the Apple Music top ten.
2022

Music Production
Moved to the Cornish Coast for three months, to a small village populated by 200 people, including Thom Yorke (Radiohead). Produced music every day. Planned the foundations of what would become DMD Records Ltd
2025

Startup Brand Lab & DMD Records Ltd
Founded Startup Brand Lab as a strategic consultancy supporting founders with holistic marketing. Took DMD Records Ltd from a bi-weekly newsletter, to a weekly paid-for newsletter and independent record label with monthly releases
